Archaeological Field Schools

Our department offers a number of exciting experiential learning opportunities through our archaeological field schools (CNRS 335/535).  We generally try to offer at least one each year.  In the summer of 2015, students participated in field schools at the Late Bronze Age site of Kalavasos-Ayios Dhimitrios on the island of Cyprus with Prof. Kevin Fisher and at the Roman site of Gerace on the island of Sicily with Prof. Roger Wilson. In 2016 new faculty member Prof. Matthew McCarty offered a field school at the Roman site of Apulum in Romania, and the projects in Cyprus and Sicily also continued. In 2017 Prof. Wilson will again be leading a field school at Gerace in Sicily.
